Crowns are used to fully restore a tooth that is broken down, cracked, or severely decayed. They not only restore proper function to a tooth, but can greatly enhance the esthetics of it. Bridges are a way of replacing missing teeth by putting crowns on adjacent teeth of the empty space, and "bridging" the gap with a false tooth in the middle.
Implants are an excellent way to replace missing teeth. If ample bone is present, a dental implant can be placed and allow to heal. Essentially, the implant now acts as a new metal tooth root in which a crown can be fitted to go on top.
Cosmetic dentistry focuses on making your teeth more beautiful. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways. Crowns, bridges, and implants all improve esthetics while achieving optimal function. Other procedures such as teeth whitening, bonding, and veneers can add to the beauty of your teeth by either changing the color, the shape, or both.
Although every effort is made to have you feel comfortable during your dental visit, you may prefer or need additional help in feeling relaxed. We offer Nitrous Oxide to help you feel comfortable and lower any anxiety you may have. Nitrous, referred to as "laughing gas" can be breathed throughout the duration of your treatment, and once removed, clear quickly from your system.
If a deeper level of sedation is desired, oral conscious sedation may be best. This consists of a small pill you take 1 hour prior to your appointment and will make you super sleepy. You will still be able to respond to the dentist, but will most likely not remember the appointment. A driver/chaperone is required for this type of sedation.
Patients will often times request multiple procedures to be preformed while sedated to take full advantage of the sedation.
When the nerve of a tooth is infected with bacteria or is damaged due to trauma, the tooth can exhibit great pain. A root canal, or endodontic therapy, can be preformed and rid the tooth of pain and ultimately save it. The nerve in the tooth is removed, the canal space cleaned, and the inside space filled with material to seal it off. Teeth that have root canals typically will need a crown to protect the tooth from further damage.
Invisalign offers a way to move your teeth without needing brackets and wire. Clear fitted trays are worn instead and are changed out bi-weekly, eventually moving your teeth into the desired position. Straighter teeth has many advantages other than just looking good. Teeth and gums can be healthier because they can be cleaned easier and malocclusions can be fixed. Come in for a consultation to see if your a candidate.
Gain a brighter smile with teeth whitening. We offer custom fitted trays with whitening gel so you are in control of the level of whiteness you achieve.
There are two types of dentures, full and partial. A full denture replaces all the missing teeth in either the upper or lower jaw and is removable. A partial denture replaces only those teeth that are missing and attaches to remaining good teeth for retention. It is also removable. Dentures look great and often function well too. If extra retention is needed to gain functionality, dental implants can be added to secure the denture in place.
Teeth can become worn down and even cracked during the night by clenching and grinding (bruxism). Sensitive teeth, sore muscles, and headaches can result. A night guard can alleviate the symptoms of bruxism and protect your teeth. TMJ problems can often be reduced by night guards as well.
Snore appliances work great by opening the airway while you sleep, thus eliminating snoring. Not only do you sleep better, so does your significant other.
During your cleaning appointment, every effort will be made to ensure your well informed of your oral health. We want your teeth, gums, and whole body to benefit from your hygiene appointments.
Sometimes teeth require additional cleaning and care underneath the gums. Periodontal treatment addresses issues that damage supporting structures around your teeth such as bone, periodontal ligaments, and gums.
